Finance Department

The role of the finance department is to implement SNTC's Financial Management Act as approved by the Council of Chiefs and to facilitate the sound financial management of the Tribal Council. In carrying out this role, the finance department prepares draft budgets, monitors expenditures, prepares monthly financial reports, revises financial policies, and provides financial advice to the Tribal Director, staff, Council of Chiefs, and member bands.

 

Nance Henne, Finance Director

Nance Henne, CGA, started as the Director of Finance in September, 2009. She has nine years of public practice experience and three years of teaching experience.

She is responsible for the management, reporting, administration of the financial affairs of the Shuswap Nation Tribal Council, managing the day-to-day accounting affairs, and managing in the development and administration of financial and accounting policies and procedures.

 

Brenda Timmins, Finance Officer

Brenda Timmins is the Finance Officer, she has a Business Administration diploma with an accounting concentration. Brenda is responsible for payroll, contract payments, and receivables.

 

Jaqueline Samson, Finance Assistant

Jaqueline Samson is the Finance Assistant, she is responsible for accounts payable, bank reconciliations, and general finance office duties. Jackie has been with the SNTC for nine years, and moved into the Finance Clerk position three years ago.
