Bonnie Leonard, Tribal Director

Bonnie Leonard is a member of the Tk’emlups Indian Band who served her community as Chief from 2000 to 2003. A graduate of the University of Victoria (1997), Bonnie holds an LLB. She has many years of experience providing legal services to the people of Kamloops and surrounding areas. An entrepreneur, Bonnie currently manages a number of corporate enterprises and economic development ventures.

Bonnie began at SNTC as Director, Aboriginal Rights and Title in 2004. In this position, she developed strategic approaches and implementation plans to advance the recognition of aboriginal title and rights issues of Secwepemc people and the Nation.

In May, 2009, Bonnie was appointed Acting Tribal Director. Her work in that position has been guided by three key themes: supporting the Council of Chiefs through effective implementation of their initiatives; providing accountability to community members, Councilors and Chiefs through comprehensive reporting and timely updates; and creating opportunity.

The Council of Chiefs appointed Bonnie as Tribal Director in January, 2010.

Veronica Leonard, Executive Assistant

Veronica provides administrative and secretarial services and support to the Tribal Director and the Tribal Chairperson. She also supervises the Administration Office and Reception.
