Finance Department
Role
The role of the finance department is to implement SNTC’s Financial Management Act as approved by the Council of Chiefs and to facilitate the sound financial management of the Tribal Council. In carrying out this role, the finance department prepares draft budgets, monitors expenditures, prepares monthly financial reports, revises financial policies, and provides financial advice to the Tribal Director, staff, Council of Chiefs, and member bands.

Staff
The Finance department has three staff members – the Director of Finance, the Finance Officer, and the Finance Clerk.

Tammy Harnett has been the Director of Finance for three years. She comes to us from KPMG with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and a Chartered Accounting designation.



The Finance Officer, Brenda Timmins, has been with the Tribal Council for three and a half years. She has a Business Administration diploma with an accounting concentration. Brenda is responsible for payroll, contract payments, and receivables.



Jaqueline Samson has been with the Tribal Council for five years and moved into the Finance Assistant position last April. Jackie is responsible for accounts payable, bank reconciliations, and general finance office duties.
